1. Background

Many trustees, CEOs, and board members of charities and non-profit organisations do not have full visibility over day-to-day financial activities. In practice, accounts may not be reviewed in detail, and concerns such as misuse of funds, weak controls, or unexplained transactions can go unnoticed for years.

Loyalty Chartered Accountants provides an independent financial health inspection as a qualified third party, designed to give trustees confidence that funds are being managed properly, transparently, and in line with their fiduciary responsibilities.

2. Scope of Financial Health Inspection

Our inspection goes beyond year-end compliance work and focuses on practical, transaction-level review, including:

• Verification that recorded transactions are genuine and valid

• Review of direct debits and standing orders to confirm they are appropriate, authorised, and still required

• Identification of questionable or unusual transactions

• Review for any missing funds or potential misappropriation

• Assessment of internal financial controls and processes

3. Inspection Report & Outcomes

Upon completion, we will issue a formal Financial Health Inspection Report, which includes:

• A clear financial health rating

• Key findings and observations

• Identified risks or weaknesses

• Any areas of concern relating to the organisation’s bank accounts and financial activity

• Practical recommendations to improve transparency and financial control

This report can be shared with trustees, boards, funders, or regulators where appropriate.
